First experiences with online and live poker

In 2011, at the age of 18, Fedor Holz embarked on his journey into the world of online poker with PokerStars, swiftly immersing himself in live tournaments shortly thereafter. While initially focusing on online play, he also made a name for himself under the pseudonym CrownUpGuy, participating in various online events and prestigious tournaments. Dissatisfied with his chosen course of study, he took the leap in 2012 to become a professional player. Overcoming a few initial hurdles, he made the decision to move to Vienna, Scotland, where he joined an authentic poker shared living space, marking the beginning of his ascent.

In February of the same year, he achieved his first major live event victory in Cyprus, and just a month later, he secured the tenth spot in the prestigious World Poker Tour, earning him his first significant prize of 13,000 euros. After a year of intense training, it was his appearance at the 2014 European Poker Tour that ultimately propelled him to great success. In Barcelona's live event, he reached an impressive five cash finishes and won over $100,000. Shortly after, he triumphed in the most esteemed online poker tournament in the world, the WCOOP at PokerStars, resulting in a staggering 1.3 million euros in winnings.

Rise to the top of the world

In 2015, Fedor Holz ultimately achieved the ascent to become one of the world's top poker players. He managed to reach two final tables at the EPT in Monte Carlo, securing over $330,000 in prize money. Shortly after, he also made it to the final table at the Aussie Millions. In his first participation at the WSOP, at the young age of only 21, he earned four cash finishes and took home over €500,000. Additionally, in December 2015, he emerged victorious in the highly prestigious WPT High Roller Event, amassing a staggering $1.5 million. It came as no surprise that he was awarded the title of the best European player of 2015 in the same year.

In early 2016, Fedor Holz celebrated his highest-ever winnings at the WPT Super High Roller Tournament, pocketing a cool $3.5 million. Shortly after, he secured second place at the Super High Roller Bowl held at the renowned Aria Casino in Las Vegas, adding another $3.5 million to his impressive bankroll. His first WSOP Bracelet was earned in 2016, during his second participation in the tournament, specifically at the $111,111 High Roller for One Drop event, where he clinched a staggering $5 million in prize money. To top it all off, Holz's triumph at the EPT High-Roller Event in 2023 skyrocketed his total tournament earnings to an astonishing $16 million.

Fedor Holz's exceptional poker skills propelled him to the sixth position on the All Time Money List for poker by 2023, amassing total earnings surpassing $20 million. This remarkable achievement places him above renowned figures in the industry such as John Juanda, Michael Mizrachi, Betrand Grospellier, and Gus Hansen. Furthermore, he dominated the poker world rankings for an impressive span of 30 weeks, leading from March 2016 to January 2017.
