Liv Boeree

Olivia "Liv" Boeree, born in 1984, hails from England and is a skilled poker player. Originally from Kent, Boeree pursued her passion for physics at the University of Manchester before relocating to London. In addition to her prowess at the poker table, she also demonstrates her talents as a television presenter and a fashion model.

In 2005, Boeree was chosen as a contestant for the Ultimatepoker.com Showdown, a reality TV show on Channel Five. It was during this occasion that she was introduced to the game of poker. Phil Hellmuth acted as Boeree's mentor throughout the show. Boeree made an appearance on the TV show Codex on Channel 4 in 2006. Following her appearances on these shows, Boeree transitioned into playing poker professionally. She also secured a role as a TV presenter for Gutshot TV, where she reported on the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. Shortly after, she hosted the European Poker Tour (EPT) and the WSOP Europe on WorldSeriesofPoker.com for Challenge TV.

Tournament participation and successes

Boeree has had a string of successes throughout her career, with notable achievements including claiming the top spot at Caesars Palace, securing a respectable 7th place at the Welsh Amateur Poker Championships, and emerging victorious at the Five Diamond Poker Classic in Las Vegas in 2007. She gained further recognition as a featured player in the esteemed Gala UK Poker Tour Season 1, which aired on Channel 4, as well as the World Women's Open 2007, televised by Channel Five. Additionally, she made appearances on the popular Sky Poker show in 2008. Boeree's winning streak continued in May 2008 when she triumphed at the Ladbrokes European Ladies Championship Tournament.

At the 2008 WSOP, Boeree achieved success in two events: she placed 49th in Event 38, $2,000 Pot Limit Holdem, and secured the 64th spot in Event 41, $1,500 Mixed Limit Holdem. Her winnings for these events amounted to $4,074 and $2,793, respectively. Additionally, she achieved a 49th place finish in the Aruba Classic.

In January 2009, Boeree secured the 7th position and earned a notable sum of $18,900 AUD at the $1,500 NLH Bounty Event. Prior to this achievement, she managed to reach the final table twice in other events, which contributed to her overall winnings of $23,000 at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championships held in April 2009. Boeree also participated in the WPT Main Event and finished in the 37th place, bagging an impressive $41,000. Additionally, she emerged victorious in April 2010 at the EPT in San Remo, amassing a prize pool of €1,250,000, thus becoming the third woman ever to secure an EPT title. Boeree proudly represents Team PokerStars.

Boeree later became a poker columnist for the specialized magazine Bluff Europe, penning feature stories for Gambling Online, World Poker Tour, and Online-Gambler. In July 2007, she made an appearance on the ITV TV show Golden Balls, where she managed to reach the game Split or Steal and walked away with a jackpot of £6,500.50. Boeree also contributed to the presentation of the DVD Metal Hammer's Golden Gods, which was included as a freebie in the September issue of the magazine in 2008. Additionally, she was featured in a three-page article in Loaded Magazine in November 2008.
