My first experiences with online and live poker.
After his entry into online poker in 2007, Philipp Gruissem embarked on a journey of participating in renowned live tournaments. In 2008, during the European Poker Tour in Barcelona, he emerged victorious in the Single Reload Tournament, earning a prize money of 234,500 euros. Shortly after, he clinched the EPT High Roller Event in London, taking home around 700,000 US dollars. In 2011, he showcased his skills at the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, securing the second-best position among Irish players, just behind the champion, Pius Heinz. Gruissem secured the 28th spot, earning a prize of 240,000 US dollars. On April 14th, 2013, he participated in the No Limit Hold'em High Roller Event with re-buys at the World Series of Poker in Melbourne. Triumphing over 43 other competitors, he was rewarded with a prize of 863,386 US dollars. However, since the tournament was conducted outside the competition, Gruissem didn't receive a bracelet.

On October 29, 2013, he emerged as the champion of the Alpha8 Main Event of the World Poker Tour in London, pocketing $1,379,840. Shortly after in November, he also claimed the first place and $1,086,400 in the No Limit Hold'em Event of the same tour on St. Kitts, with a buy-in of $100,000. Gruissem also emerged as the winner at the Grand Final of the European Poker Tour 2014 in Monte Carlo, earning a prize pool of $1,378,592. In 2013, he secured the third place and won €250,000 at Event #8 No Limit Hold'em High Roller of the World Series of Poker in France. Among his recent successes is a victorious PokerStars tournament in 2017 at the World Championship of Online Poker. Also in 2017, Gruissem triumphed in the Eight Max Shot Clock tournament of the PokerStars Championship in Monte Carlo, with a prize of €500,000. In August 2018, he participated in the Party Poker Live Millions tournament in Sochi, Russia, playing No Limit Hold'em with a buy-in of three million rubles.
